  Abstract, Plaster, Sculptures  /   42cm x 28cm x 34cm

This sculpture by Paola Falconi belongs to her Academic years, when the artist studied and found inspiration in the work of the Japanese sculptor Kan Yasuda.
Since the beginning of her artistic career, she was really interested in the creation of simplified shapes in order to represent the essence of her favourite subjects: nature and human figure.

In this work Paola Falconi pays particular attention to the contrast between inner and outer surfaces. The central hole of Abbraccio, darker then the outer surface due to the shadow projected on the hazy blue colour, forms a delicate inner world, protected by both of the two figures which form the hug.
