Art in Porto Cervo Marina

By paolafalconi   /     Aug 20, 2018  /     Inspiring artists, Inspiring moments, My art

Testo in italiano alla fine della pagina.

Last weekend I went to Porto Cervo Marina to the vernissage of a collective exhibition in which I participated with a selection of six sculptures.

Left: Quiete and Silenzio. Right: Abbraccio and Untitled

I am very happy of having been involved in this exhibition in my beloved Gallura which, together with the whole of Sardinia, has always been a huge source of inspiration. The sky, the colours, the Mediterranean scrub vegetation, the rocks sculpted by the wind and the sea, the silences and the perfumes of my motherland which have inspired many sculptures I exposed. And seeing them in that context made me joyful because it seemed like as if they were at home.

In the small square of Porto Cervo Marina, other than the “Semi Verticali” made by Pinuccio Sciola, there are sculptures made by Alessandro Lobino, Chelita Riojas Zuckermann, Szymon Oltarzewsky and my “Maestrale” made of fiberglass. Close by, Immobilsarda’s offices host some artworks by Eliane Aerts, Massimo Golfieri, Adolfo Macciocco, Raphael Mazzucco, Jean Pierre Ramos and Licia Sanna, but also some sculptures made by me and other sculptors who exhibit outside in the little square.

Giancarlo Bracco, founder of Immobilsarda, and Sabrina la Leggia, curator of the exhibition, made a very good job in organizing the exhibition. Saturday’s vernissage brought a great number of collectors and art lovers with whom I had the privilege to share opinions while enjoying typical products of the island’s food and wine.

It has been a very nice weekend and the exhibition is on until the 9thof September, so if you pass by Gallura…don’t miss it!

Arte a Porto Cervo Marina

“Maestrale” Sculpture – Artrooms Fair Rome 2018

By paolafalconi   /     Mar 10, 2018  /     Inspiring moments, My art

Participating in Artrooms Fair in Rome has been a rather enriching experience. I arrived in Rome on a Wednesday morning, after a snowfall which entirely covered the eternal city in white. At first, I was afraid that the snow could block the transportation of my sculpture but, with all the doubts flying away, I could not wait to open the box containing the sculpture to see if it was still intact.

An Intense Summer

By paolafalconi   /     Sep 01, 2017  /     Inspiring moments, My art

Testo in italiano alla fine della pagina

When it comes to art, July and August have been very intense months for me.

I worked for the whole winter together with my curator Katy Carta on the realization of my monograph ‘’IN // Inspired by Nature’’ and, when it was finally ready, I considered important presenting it to my friends, acquaintances and art collectors in my city: Cagliari.

The presentation of the monograph happened in mid-July in ‘The AB Factory’, along with the exposition of seven paintings and four sculptures, all representative of my artistic journey. (more…)

IN // Inspired by Nature

By paolafalconi   /     Jul 09, 2017  /     Inspiring moments, My art

Testo in italiano alla fine della pagina

We finally made it! The curator Katy Carta and I have been collaborating for a year for the realisation of my monograph “IN // Inspired by Nature”. I liked the idea of fixing on paper my artistic experience.

After the Academy of Arts, I followed the classic path of all the young artists: frequenting galleries and cultural associations, participating in collective exhibitions and art competitions. But, while I was starting my career I was living: I got married and with my husband I raised a family of four kids.

As many working mums I chose to sacrifice my career in order to give quality time to my family but I never abandoned my artistic activity. I just slowed it down, I didn’t exhibit anymore but I never regretted it at all.

Besides that, since a few years, with my kids being more independent I gradually increased the amount of time spent working and, thanks to this blog, I started talking about me and my art. For me writing is close to a psychological introspection. It has helped and stimulated me to work always more, up to the point of dedicating myself completely to art again – first by painting, then by exhibiting and finally by sculpting.

Silenzio

By paolafalconi   /     May 17, 2017  /     My art

Testo in italiano alla fine della pagina

“Silenzio” is my latest sculpture. It is sculpted in tuff and it is born from my actual research.

With its soft shapes, it wants to evoque feelings of calmness, moments in which everything is about listening.

I like to stare at it and, in the absence of every action, let everything flow. It’s a reaction to the excessive stimuli of this historical moment, and it is also a recall to stop ourselves without feeling guilty if we do so.

 Silenzio
